Here is an example of a typical afternoon at Double N…
Lovage, parsley, mint, and dill to go into our potato salad for our workday picnic.
We made the salad with these Adirondack blues and Yukon golds. I am so glad we planted enough to get us through the fall and winter!
Lots of lemon zest!
A little chopped spinach thrown in with the herbs and it turned out delicious!
I also made a wheatberry salad. This is one of my favorites! You can find the recipe here.
After preparing lunch, we loaded up his and hers tillers and went to the garden.
We moved bricks, and prepared placed for new permanent raised beds. These will be for garlic!
We are so thrilled that one of our dear friends gifted us the orange tiller that Nick is using. We cannot get over his kindness!
Let the picnic begin!
Everything was so delicious!
I keep taking pictures of flowers. I guess I’m trying to hold on to that last little bit of summer that is hanging on.
We lost ALL of our well established rosemary last year during the super cold winter. This guy we planted this year and is already HUGE! I hope we can protect this one through the winter!
At the end of the day, we went home to grind and put away the herbs we had previously dried.
We cut the holy basil, dried some and tinctured most. Then called it a day.
Have you had any exciting afternoons this week? We’d love to hear!
