We are so excited for the weekend we have ahead of us! Our new friends from Fermentation on Wheels and Fermenters Club are having a fermented food potluck at our place Sunday at noon! If y’all live in the area, please come out!
Bring some of your own fermented dishes or cultures (kombucha SCOBYs, sourdough starter, kefir grains, yogurt, etc.) to share and swap with other fermenters. This potluck is open to everyone from expert fermenters to interested beginners.
Fermentation on Wheels is a community from Eugene, OR that provides free food education and inspires people through workshops, literature, and visual arts projects that raise food awareness and teach fermentation. The community organizes potlucks and teaches fermentation in a school bus that has been converted into a creative kitchen and workshop space. They are now touring the United States, harvesting produce alongside small-scale farmers and holding workshops on the importance of fermentation and micro-agriculture. To learn more or get involved, visit their website at www.fermentationonwheels.com.
Fermenters Club is a globo-local movement whose Mission is to improve the overall health of the human population by teaching and encouraging people to make and share their own living, probiotic foods, thereby fostering communities that are “connected through their guts. You may read more about their project at www.fermentersclub.com, which is also packed with recipes for the novice to expert fermenter.
